Of course her romp had ended with her nearly crawling to the fire pit. Her blood sang in her veins, heart pounding in those triangle shaped ears. She'd been running in full fur, her body slightly larger then a mundane fox's and a more vivid red in color. ebony black marked her paws and ear-tips, giving her ears a duel triangle look.
That single fluffy tail much resembled an over sized artists brush dipped in pure white, the colors not so much melding together but clashing almost violently. Whuffles sounding from her mouth and nose as she breathed, she approached the burning fire slowly, alert to anyone else who may be mingling about.
It felt good to run.

It felt even better to curl up by the fire after a good run. That was where Kei currently found himself. The flames from the fire pit drawing him a little closer than what was necessary. Crimson streaked tail was wrapped snugly around his massive black frame, head resting between his paws. As Naiomi approached he would lift his head to regard her with a passive look. A few seconds passed before head lowered in a slow dip to acknowledge her presence.

Panting, she glanced around the pit only to find the large ebony and crimson canine there. A cautious dip of her head was given as well before the small fox moved closer to the fire itself before she let her legs collapse. Little plumes of fine dirt were tossed up, only to settle once more as her head dropped to those ink black paws. A quiet yawn parted her jaws only to end in a click as they snapped shut. Even her tail remained still as she took a few moments to let her body recoup, her eyes upon that ebony creature.

The larger kitsune merely smirked as he observed Naiomi approaching the fire pit. Although she was in her fox form this time her scent was undeniably still the same. Bushy tail unfurled and swept across the ground behind him a couple of times before stopping to curl by his hindquarters. Crimson hues closed for a moment as he listened to the sounds around them, matching triangulars twitching ever so slightly. Several minutes passed before he opened his eyes again.
"Have any imp trouble yet?"

"No. Nothing of the sort.. Which appeals to me. I'm not a fan of having to fight anyway."
Soft tone just matched with her normal mannerisms. Ears twitching, she watched the coal black Kitsune. That delicate chin lifted hesitantly from her paws as those 'radar' ears flicked back. Up until he'd mentioned it, she'd totally forgotten about the imp's that had been causing such an issue in the lands. The last thing she wished to do was run into one of them while out and about.. Or worse.. a whole group.

"No? Well, I don't think you'd have much choice if you come across them. Not like they're just going to let you walk away. It's either kill or be killed."
He smirked before pushing up to a seated position, those crimson hues fixated on Naiomi for a moment. Leg lifted to scratch himself behind one ear, stifling a yawn as he did so. It hadn't been too long ago since he napped but he was getting drowsy again.
"So what are you then, if not a fighter?"

"I'm a lover, not a fighter."
Of course... after a moment of letting that sink in her ears flipped back and she realised exactly*how* bad that could sound.
" I mean to say I'm more a healer then a brawler."
If she could have blushed, she would have. Those eyes quickly averted to the fire and her tail clenched tight in against her hind end.
Of ALL the stupid things to say.

"Love is a pointless emotion. Just another weakness to use against you."
Where there might have been a mocking smirk or perhaps even a crude remark under normal circumstances, Kei was surprisingly serious when he responded to her comment. It was a mere reflection of a past that he's long since buried. There was a slight flicker behind those crimson hues before something caused him to turn in the direction of the woods. A light rustling, or a foreign scent. Naiomi's corrected statement fell on deaf ears as he tensed up immediately and pushed to stand on all fours. Auditory domes swiveled before flattening against his cranium.
"If you're not a fighter, then I suggest you get out of here right now."
Lips curled back as he gave a warning growl in the direction which his gaze was fixated upon. Then without another word to Naiomi he bounded into the woods, his black pelt seemingly ignited with flames of the same color. Gruff voices betrayed the identity of their stalkers as they were caught by surprise by the kitsune leader and then all hell broke loose. Apparently there were two groups of imps lying in wait to ambush them. Their numbers reached at least eight.

Well... Hopefully he didn't expect her to try and run.. as she whirled, she found two of the group advancing on her from the rear. Seems they'd flanked from each side. As he bounded off towards the main group she let out a yip and spun to face the other two. Akito's words echoing in her mind caused her ears to flatten in distress.
" You have to finish things like that off, they're too stupid to get the hint."
Damn it. With a low, totally non dangerous sounding growl, she sprinted and pounced. Sadly.. there was two of them.. and one of her.. and she was only a little bigger then a single Imp... This was not going to end well.

Whatever he had been expecting, it certainly wasn't the pathetic growl that he heard. There wasn't much he could do about it at the moment however. Not when he was busy dealing with the rest of the group. Naiomi would just have to fend for herself. Tendrils of black flame whipped and lashed forth towards the imps, his ebon pelt completely engulfed by the source as he pounced and tore into the ugly creatures. Kei was not in the habit of toying with his prey so he aimed for the kill with each blow. By the time it finally dawned on the imps that they stood no chance against the kitsune they turned and hauled ass in the opposite direction to where Naiomi was. Only three were left. The fox came bounding into view after them, the mutilated corpse of an imp, or half of an imp to be precise, still clenched between his powerful jaw.

There had been yipping, snarling and even a yelp. As he turned to chase them back with that half of a brown skinned icky between his teeth this sound hit the air. A loud, piercing whimper mixed with a yowl of pain. She'd been bearing down upon one Imp, those sharp little teeth having tore a hole in his cheek and forehead, a chunk from his shoulder and both his arms a bloody little mess.. but she hadn't been paying enough attention and was stuck in an Imp sandwich.
The second had turned on her, sinking those nasty little teeth in between slender shoulders, raking clawed nails along her chest as he clung for dear life.

The carcass was spat aside as he quickly advanced upon the three retreating imps. He easily batted them into a daze with his massive paw, and while they were disoriented he started to rip out their throats. Naiomi's mixture of a whimper and yowl made him pause and look in her direction, where upon doing so allowed the one surviving imp to bite him in the muzzle. Crimson hues blazed with anger as blood dripped down his face and he terminated the little bugger without so much as a wince.
After dropping the dead imp he made a beeline for Naiomi's assailant and charged tackle the creature right off her. He slammed his paw over the imp's head and crushed it until the skull caved in. Then he turned back around to see how Naiomi was doing with the final imp, his eyes still blazing as blood covered his entire face while continuing to drip to the ground. It gave him a crazed and menacing look.

The last Imp had been finished off and she'd already backed away from it, cowering against the log and trying to crane her neck to see the wound between her shoulders. One look at him caused her own injury to be put aside.
Those green eyes went wide and she dropped to her belly on the ground, ignoring the pain that caused her entire body to begin shivering. The last thing she wanted to do was piss off the already pissed off leader of her clan.
After a moment.. when she realised that the imps were dead.. and that was indeed blood upon his face she lifted a few inches, muttering quietly in a voice equally as shaky as the tail that flagged behind her.
" Let me.. fix it?"

He regarded her with a silent look before glancing over to the dead imp. At least she had gotten one. As each second passed he became less tense and eventually despite all the blood his face resumed its usual passive look. Her submissive gesture did not elicit any more of a reaction from him other than the neutral expression he was now wearing. Her question went unanswered at first and he merely shifted to sit back on his haunches. Eventually he turned his attention back to her.
"Tend to your own injuries first. I'm not carrying you back if you collapse."

She froze in place, again turning her head to try and see the wound between her shoulders. Bumbling over her own paws, she headed back to the fire pit and sat, glancing down at herself. It took a minute on account of her nerves, and being under his watchful eye before she was finally able to call upon her energies.
It was a soft glow, forming first upon her chest as she closed her eyes. These soft, whispered words audible in the breeze. A fine mist of silver and green coated along her shoulders, a fluffy padding that rolled back and created this little halo around her. When it dissipated the flesh had mended, coat lay in pristine condition. The only way anyone would even know of her injury was if they'd been there.
Very slowly she rose and turned back to him, again lowering her head with her ears flicked back.
"You now?"
