The Shumani Forest was alive with activity, birds were scattering and the wood was abuzz with fright. A large number of imps were the reason for the commotion, stomping through the forest intent on finding and destroying all within this land, vengeance for their fallen brethren. Swathing great arcs with their weapons they ripped plant and forest animal alike, advancing upon the Z'ev village.
Whomever, or whatever lived there, these imps were there to make sure they didn't any longer!

Stevie-rae had been lurking in a tree, not too far from where the Imps were slashing and destroying things. She was in her half form, standing at nearly nine-feet tall as she jumped to the forest ground and darted in their general direction with a roar ripping through her chest and out of her muzzle. She wasn't going to let some nasty little imp creatures get away with destroying her part of the woods. She sniffed the air, searching for the closest one that was strayed away from the pack and she jumped to the right, taking another path for a short distance before slamming into the creature and rolling to a stop. She slammed her claws down towards its chest.

The roar echoed through the wood eerily, causing some of the raiders to stop and turn to look. That was the fatal mistake of the one who'd straggled too far away from the entourage. Before the enemy knew what hit it, Stevie-Rae had it on it's back and gutted. Still, these buggers knew no fear it seemed and the height and menacing demeanor the Okami had only seemed to make them more determined.
As the deed was done, the entourage began to swarm her from all sides once again yelling out a warcry and swinging clubs viciously stabbed with metal points from the ends of the weapons, aiming to overpower the wolfess and bludgeon her before she could stop them for good. Would it work though?

Stevie-rae howled out as some of the spiked weapons stabbed into her hind leg and rib-cage. She swiped a heavy clam at the one by her ribs, and kicked her hind leg out at the one that got her there before she lunged forward to take down more than one in front of her, closing her jaws around one's torso and slamming another claw into the next.
She swung the one in her muzzle around before slinging him off somewhere and moving her iron jaw around another. They weren't going to over-power her. She wouldn't fall until she knew they were all dead. She shook another like a dog would a chew toy and slung him off into the woods as well. Seemed like there would be no back-up for her, so luckily she could heal herself!

The clutter of sounding and clanking steel, iron and steps rolling through the surroundings hadn't taken all too long for him to notice. Had something happened..? He thought to himself, pausing momentarily, those large ears twitching, shifting from position to position as to better get an understanding of the situation. Whatever or whoever it had been, they had come armed, both defensively as well as offensively, But for what purpose.
Eventually, the shouting sounds of another... someone had encountered the would be invaders. The first real scent of just what it had been wafted through the air as this person managed to land their first blow. An awful stench, foul and bitter on the tongue. His mind settled, that body lurched toward the ground before jolting off toward the ruckus expeditiously. Clawed paws scraping and grinding down against stone and wood, pushing his large form forward in a rush of heated wind.
Nearing the gathering, his lungs pulled a deepened gush of air inward as that body shoved itself upward from it's final placement. Pushing off a large stone from atop one of the nearby hills. His emerald pools instantly settling upon the person who had encountered the numerous gathering of disturbing creatures. The air held within chest had been released in a loud, echoing howl. Causing the warmed temperatures of the immediate surroundings to rise. Those Once green hues now shifting, coveted by a deepened crimson red as the etched runes about his body began to give off a dimmed glow.
Maw parted wide, each razor sharpened fang within wreathing in a thin coat of what seemed to be fire itself, as well as each extended claw from out stretched paws as he fell downward into the fray. A single lonesome creature easily falling victim to the onslaught as those teeth bit down viciously against the tender point just between neck and shoulder. Instantly shredding any muscles which would allow the being to even bother turning to capture sight of him. Clawed, out reached paws grasping down firm against it's lower back, Digging and severing that spinal column mercilessly.
The creature was forced downward, crushed into the ground beneath them, the overly large, snow whitened wolven clamped down against it's back. Those estranged markings pulsating with energy as he cast glare toward the other gathering invaders. His throat and chest rumbling in a deep, threatening growl before those jaws tightened tremendously in a split second. Crushing and shattering any poor bones which happened to be in between them. Eventually releasing his prey, turning to cast that flame licked vision toward his fellow member.
"It seems you've managed to make a few new friends..."
A reassuring glance then given, she wasn't about to enjoy all of this fun by herself... evidentially she would have to learn to share. His back arched, ruffled, pure white fur bending against toned muscle as that muzzle was brought skyward. Lungs releasing a deafening howl, resounding along the trees and surrounding earth. One final warning granted to the invaders before this would turn into a rather long, long night.

She took in a deep breath, catching the scent of another as he jumped into the scene and started mashing, bashing, and tearing apart some of the nasty creatures. Stevie-rae had no problems sharing these nasty things, it was other things she had an issue sharing.
She launched forward at another, slamming each claw into one and grasping one with her jaw. Three point kill y'all! Totally bad ass. She huffed at the male wolf, in a friendly manner of course [with a wolfy grin and all] after she dropped the dead creature and charged toward another of the imps.
"Aren't they just so disgusting!" She bit another around the neck and tossed him after hearing it break.

The forest would not be silent for many many hours, as the imp invasion fought long and hard against the two Okami guardians. Before both sides knew it, kindred wolves began pouring out of the trees from the shadows, especially as the onslaught edged dangerously close to Raven's Eclipse Lake.
This not only was on the borders of the village, but it was considered by the wolf spirits to be sacred ground in which only those with the kindred blood may enter. Corporeal and Incorporeal spirits jumped in the fray to aide their Alpha and Packmate in this skirmish.
Roars, shrieks, snarls and other vicious sounds ripped into the night even until the dawn stole the night away, and as morning light broke the sunlight showed not only had portions of the forest had suffered, but the imps were severely handicapped. Half of the imp raiders were spooked by the ghostly wolves, the others emboldened and cut down. A few stragglers thought themselves either better than their counterparts, or were dumber than the rest as two each encircled the guardians Cassius and Stevie-Rae with wicked weapons and even wickeder grins, desperate, tired, and suicidal.
With a gutteral growl, they launched in unison! The last stand, if the imps succeeded the village would be breeched. If they did not, the imps would be defeated and Z'ev Village would be safe.
For now.

She watched as they received help from other wolven spirits that had lay through-out the lands. With a huff of relief she moved to take out a few more and noticed that they were surrounded by the nasty creatures. "Seems like we have a small problem." She mumbled and hunched over, growling viciously as they circled in.
This had to be their last stand, the final battle. They were desperate, and for that they were sloppy. She charged at the three in front of her, slashing all the way down the two on the sides bodies, and snapping her jaws around the one in front of her. She batted the two away, and tossed the one from her mouth before she went chomping down on another.
