So you want to gain some experience, learn the land, gain some wealth? Visit each respective sub-bulletin board in the Missions Office to see what assignments are available for you to undertake. But first, let's take a look at what types of assignments there are.
There are four categories of assignments the missions office recognizes. Those are:
1.) Quests: In-depth multiple required tasks that may involve extensive travel, time, wealth, rank or even be clan exclusive. In a quest, it is highly possible one will lead into another, weaving together a much larger scale situation.
( Think more guildwide events, major story explanations which could help shape the history, geography, or other major elements in Makai. )
2.) Missions: Missions are commissioned to you because there is some mystery needing solved, a rescue of person, place, or thing. It may require travel, time, wealth, rank or be clan specific depending on the assignment. These are usually one time events, and can be done solo or in a group.
3.) Jobs: These tasks are more of a common variety, usually associated as 'easy' assignments that may be done as many times as a member wishes, unless the assignment specifies otherwise. Usually these are collection tasks, hunting parties, construction efforts, etc.
4.) Bounties: Bounties are contracts paid for by either the Syndicate or private members who have cause against the intended target. Completed bounties will render wealth, prizes, and of course you will gain experience for your fulfillment of contracts. Each contract will have it's own set of requirements that may be as simple as finding the target and capturing, to reconnaissance leading to the destruction of the intended target.
All assignment types will list a quick rundown header, detailing the commissioner, the date the assignment begins and expires, any requisites, payout upon completion, and difficulty level.
Difficulty is listed like this:
* = Easy
*** = Moderate
***** = Difficult
* These tasks are pretty cut and dry, not a lot of time, travel, or requirements are requested.
*** = Moderate level tasks will require you to go out of your way a bit, be it in travel, time to complete, or requirements involved. Combat may be likely, but not necessarily.
***** = Difficult level tasks require the most time, travel, and requisites. Combat possibility could also rate this to a difficult level, especially if multiple encounters are likely; or if circumstances are extreme.
While the difficulty rating is a gauge for those candidates who wish to try their hand at getting the job done, it is not a guarantee that something unexpected won't happen. Unless you get a job walking Fiffy around the coliseum track five times, there is a distinct possibility of surprise. So know that is the risk you take by committing to complete assignments.
Happy Adventuring!
